🌱 Spring Has Sprung! (Well, Almost Everywhere...)

Hello Sellers!

Ever planted too early and watched your garden dreams wither? Let's talk about why playing the waiting game with soil temperature is your ticket to thriving plants! Minnesota weather playing its usual tricks 60° one day, 20° the next! But we gardeners are a determined bunch, aren't we? While Mother Nature makes up her mind, let's get prepped for an amazing growing season!

🗓️ Your Early Spring Garden Checklist:

🧤 The Great Garden Supply Hunt

• Time for the annual treasure hunt for those trusty gloves and seed trays

• My Top Tip: Inventory now = No panic shopping later!

• Missing anything? Check local garden centers for early-bird specials

🌿 Greenhouse Goals

• Converting my greenhouse into Seedling Central

• Soon to be starting my flowers and vegetables

• Drop a comment: What are you growing this year?

🚜 Ground Work

• Getting that tiller ready for action

• The Crumble Test: Soil should break apart easily in your hand

• Patience is key - working wet soil = concrete garden!

🌡️ Temperature Talk: The Make-or-Break Factor

Why Timing Matters:

• Cold soil = Sad seeds

• Slow root growth = Stressed plants

• Rush planting = Wasted effort

Your Must-Save Temperature Guide:

📝 Cool Warriors: 40°F

• Lettuce

• Peas

• Spinach

📝 Middle Ground: 60°F+

• Tomatoes

• Peppers

• Beans

📝 Heat Lovers: 70°F+

• Melons

• Squash

• Cucumbers

🎯 Pro Success Tips:

✅ Soil thermometer = Your best friend

✅ Morning temperature checks

✅ Test at actual planting depth

✅ Look for consistent readings

✅ Black plastic mulch for faster warming

👥 Let's Chat!

• Gardeners: Share your soil temperature testing tricks!

• Sellers: How are you preparing your spring inventory to ensure your sales don’t wither and you have a successful harvest of sales?

  • Do you sell any seasonal items?
  • How do you prepare for spring sales?

• Everyone: What excites you most about the new season?

Looking forward to hearing your answers!

Hello @Michelle_HAQM

As a handmade seller, I would like to continue your metaphor in regards to HANDMADE sellers experiencing the SEVERE drop in sales due to the "Reclassification Project" that was announced in July of 2023, that HAQM reports will take several years and has resulted in visibility and sales dropping to 50% or less of previous years.

Handmade sellers have worked hard since the opening of Handmade on October 8, 2015. We planted our seeds at HAQM, transplanted some stock from Etsy or Shopify. We tended our gardens lovingly with the care and concern that anyone would give to items they nurture with their own time and talents.

In the middle of 2023, HAQM came through our handmade garden with a large lawnmower cutting all the handmade items down to the ground. They are now hidden from view. Yes, the roots still remained, our listings still existed, but the searchability of handmade listings is gone. The "backend" information is gone.

Phase 2 of this gardening project was to bring in a backhoe to dig up all the carefully separated plants and dump them, into a large dump truck where they were deposited in one large pile with no separating categories. HAQM promised us that moving all the plants into one large pile would allow our handmade plants to be seen by more. They are now a pile of indistinguishable roots with no flowers or fruits to identify them and put in a compost pile to rot.

The handmade gardeners beg HAQM for help, but HAQM only tells them that they need to wait, and starve, while HAQM continues to repeat the illusion of this bright future that is several years away.

Dear HAQM Representative,

I noticed your response on this post and would really appreciate your help with my case as well.

Case Id : 17509028411

My A-to-Z Claim ID is 114-8521904-0688263 , Due to the A-to-Z claim, my Order Defect Rate (ODR) has increased, and I have lost the Buy Box, which is severely affecting my sales and account performance.

Whenever I raise a case regarding this issue, I only receive a bot-generated response stating, “We stand by our decision.” This automated reply does not address my genuine concerns or provide any resolution.

I request your kind support in reviewing my case personally, as the situation is causing significant disruption to my business.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Sincerely,

Eclatique Rug

This year, as far as edible goes, we plan to plant tomatoes only.

We planted the seeds indoors about three weeks ago. Have already nice seedlings. For now, we have them is small planters. We take them out when the weather is nice and return them at sunset. We keep them indoors on colder days.

I plan to cultivate more bonsai.

I had five bonsai that I left out for the winter. All of them survived! But they are all evergreens. It is much more difficult to keep alive winter outside a deciduous bonsai.
