Request for Reconfirmation: Expiration Policy Clarification

Hi HAQM moderators and sellers

I hope you all are well .

Case id 17863476451

Issue brief: I needed clarification on HAQM’s expiration policy for my product, case id 17863476451 , which has an 18-month shelf life/expiry. During shipment creation, HAQM showed a requirement of 105 days minimum expiration, which led to confusion about how long the product would remain sellable once received (before being returned or disposed off).

After contacting Seller Support, I was informed that HAQM considers items unsellable 90 days before their expiration date. This means I have 14 months of sellable time if the product arrives with 17 months remaining (confirmed by chat with HAQM in above case id).

I want to reconfirm this that I will have 14 months of sellable time, Please help.

Thanks

@Steve_HAQM @Bryce_HAQM please.

Hi @Seller_GLeNc8q4fBGvw,

Thanks for posting here. HAQM considers any product with a shelf life, or that loses effectiveness over time, to be subject to expiration. This includes:

• Products with printed expiration dates • Consumable products (food, supplements) • Topical products (creams, cosmetics) • Cleaning products • Products with period-after-opening (PAO) symbols

For these products, there are some key requirements:

  1. Sufficient time for use: Products must be received by customers with enough time for use before expiration. For example, a 240-serving supplement bottle should reach the customer more than 240 days before expiration.
  2. Clear labeling: Expiration dates must be clearly labeled. For most products, acceptable formats are MM-DD-YYYY or MM-YYYY. Medical devices require YYYY-MM-DD format.
  3. Packaging requirements: All items, including those in multi-packs or bundles, must have expiration dates on both the outer packaging and individual items.
  4. No covering original information: You cannot cover up original expiration dates or other product information.

It’s important to note that even if a product doesn’t have a printed expiration date, it may still be considered subject to expiration by HAQM’s standards.

Regards,

- Manny
