Create Variations to existing custom listings
Case ID 17571236761
Hello,
I hope someone can help us. We have some custom listings that we created long time ago but now we want to add variation to them so we can do FBA in the future, but we cannot upload the image to those variations after we done every other tasks, only the account manager can do but we don't want to bother her too much so we tried to figure out ourself.
We cannot create the new listing because this listing had some sales before or reviews and we don't want to lose them.
We download the template, but still don't understand how it works. We also tried the Variation Wizard but it didn't work either.
However, there is no image required for variations when we created the new listings.
I sell jewelry, I'm the brandowner.

@Seller_zNV5Km8b1QOsdThe best way to add variations is to download a Category Listings Report. Find the listing on the report that you want to add variations to. Highlight the row with the listing and copy/paste it in the same document below the main listing. Now you can change the title. Remove the ASIN as a new one will be created. Instead of Partial Update change to update. Then you will need to assign Parent/child for relationship. Choose the variation and then find the column for those variations and fill those in. It can be daunting at first but it's really not too complicated.

I suspect that this is another reclassification project thing. I also got this same error message (non custom listing) and tried doing it through a file upload and just got a different set of errors and could not make it happen.
@Seller_zNV5Km8b1QOsd When you get your category listing report pulled down, look at the (I think) second column. Some of my listings have GUILD (old listings) and some have EARRING (new listing). HAQM has always made it impossible to put items in two different categories into a parent/child relationship. So it looks like new handmade listings will not be able to go into a parent/child with an existing handmade listing. @Joey_HAQMcan you confirm this? If this is the case, this is something else to add to the never ending list of project fixes.

Hello @Seller_zNV5Km8b1QOsd,
Thank you for taking the time to post here. Also thanks to @Seller_2azHBWt7FzGTG and @Seller_M94fHI9Bg7LMX for chiming in on this and providing feedback.
I have shared this scenario with the Handmade team and have requested that they provide me with more information. I will post here once I have it. @Seller_zNV5Km8b1QOsd, can you please confirm if you still don't have access to the Category Listings Report? If you don't, please file a case with Seller Support and share the Case ID here. If Seller Support is not able to assist you, I will escalate on my end, but I do need the Case ID to do so.
I understand this is frustrating. Please bear with me truly trying to help.

Any direction from The Handmade Team (that we all believe no longer exists)?
Sales are so dismal, I was hoping to drive more traffic by creating parent listing to link some similar items in different colors. There is no way to do this with existing listings.
