Keep on, Keeping on with the Compliance Document Review Process
Hey Sellers! We see that one of your biggest pain points in both in the Create and Manage Listings category and now the Product Safety & Compliance category continues to be the wait time for compliance documents to be reviewed.
We just want to share another gentle reminder that it can take up to 15 business days (weekends are not counted in this review process) for the Compliance team to get back to you (as we previously mentioned in our last compliance best practices discussion linked here). This means if you are submitting compliance documents today, Wednesday April 30th, 2025, they may not be reviewed until May 21st, 2025, so please plan ahead as the team receives a high volume of documents to analyze in order to keep our customers safe.
If you find yourself in a situation where you are concerned about your inventory being removed due to inactivity as you are waiting for your compliance documents to be processed, please create a case with Selling Partner Support and request an extension. Let Seller Support know that your compliance documents are under review and share with them your CASE ID generated when your compliance documents are submitted through the Manage Your Compliance dashboard. (This case can be found in your ‘Manage Support Cases’ section of Seller Central. You can search via the ASIN.)
Now on to some more good stuff about Compliance Review...
Lately there have been some trending rejection themes for Compliance Documents that our Community Managers have seen around the Seller Forums and we would like to share the trends and quick ways to fix these blockers after having your compliance documents rejected.
Rejection #1: Missing images on the detail page
To add images to your listing when it product is inactive, you can use the following steps:
- Go to your menu in the upper left hand corner of Seller Central and select, 'Catalog'
- Then in that section, select 'Upload Images'
- From that page you can enter the ASIN you wish to add images to in the search bar under the ‘Image Manager’
If you have any questions with these steps →HERE← is the help page.
Rejection #2: Missing documents/need additional information
We have seen a rise in sellers being unable to submit new or updated documentation information in the Manage Your Compliance page because the case status is still ‘Under Review’:
If you are experiencing the scenario described above:
- Please create a new case to Selling Partner Support case and ensure it references your old case ID (the one generated when your compliance documents are submitted through the Manage Your Compliance page) and the ASIN you are trying to reinstate with the documents attached to the case.
- You can also share within your support case the troubleshooting steps you have taken to try and add your documents, but what you really need from Seller Support is to escalate your documents to the compliance team for the document review process to continue.
Rejection #3: Misalignment/Missing Information on Detail Page
We have seen an uptick with sellers needing to add information to their detail page as the last step in getting their compliance approved or sellers needing to update information on the detail page as it was not aligned with previously submitted information to HAQM.
If you are experiencing the scenario described above:
- First try to manually change the information by going to Manage All Inventory > Selecting the ASIN > Edit Listing and Save the changes
- If the changes do not take in step one, upload a category specific partial flat file with the information you need to add or subtract from your detail page.
- If you run into any errors or the changes did not reflect after waiting 24 hours, then create a new case to Selling Partner Support and be sure to reference the batch ID you tried uploading the day before.
Note: Per the Detail Page Rules Policy:
- You may not update detail pages to repeatedly add and remove prohibited claims as identified in HAQM’s Prohibited product claims. Customers who are identified to repeatedly add and remove prohibited claims to circumvent this policy may be subjected to corrective actions, including but not limited to the immediate termination of selling privileges.
- You may not repeatedly update your listing to add and remove prohibited images, disclaimers, or content to circumvent HAQM policy controls. Sellers must ensure their products are always accurately categorized, described, and in compliance with HAQM’s listing standards for any product sold on HAQM. Listing products on HAQM in a manner to avoid detection is considered evasive behavior. Evasive behavior does not have a path to reinstatement unless you provide valid proof of your adherence to all applicable laws and HAQM policies.
You can find more help on how to update your detail page on our previous discussion →HERE← regarding best practices when updating your listing.
We are here to streamline this process for both you and the Compliance team. Please keep the tips above, along with the ones we previously shared in this discussion →HERE←, in mind for a smoother experience when submitting your compliance documentation. Thank you for understanding.

@Cooper_HAQM
The problem is they are not responding unless we continually ask Seller Support to escalate. I have cases still open from January. Each time I submit docs and they respond...I immediately respond back...but they don't respond again and I need to escalate again and again. I have been doing this for 15 years and I have never seen it this bad before. It seems to be getting even worse

@Cooper_HAQM Compliance in the past was done first where a product was live and then a 30 day grace period was given. If it was under review, the item would be kept live until the review was complete.
There seems to have been a change where items now are removed right away until compliance is complete. I'm assuming that others were abusing the system of items going live.
There should be a grace period provided to sellers who upload many new items and always get the item approved with correct compliance and have no record of abusing the system.
